JOHN SCHLITT

GENERAL RIDER AGREEMENT

In a spirit of Christian brotherhood for the purpose of establishing good communications and mutual understanding, this rider is entered into agreement between John Schlitt, and xxxx, Sponsor, on xxx xx, xxxx.

All contents of this rider are part of the concert agreement for John Schlitt on DAY, DATE, at LOCATION, and are designed to provide a framework whereby all parties involved will have a clear and consistent understanding of the task at hand, which is the furtherance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music.

I. GENERAL UNDERSTANDING

A.  Modifications.  It is with this one motive and desire that we mutually agree to the following rider. However, if there are any sections of this rider that need to be changed or adapted in order to serve your needs more efficiently, please direct all questions to Sue Dempster of Nova Productions. Your signature at the end of this rider covers all sections.

B.  Sharing the Stage.  If John will be sharing the ministry that evening with another artist/speaker, please submit their name and website information. No one will be allowed to share the stage with John unless they are approved in the original contract.

C.  Advertising. Photos of John for posters and advertising purposes may be taken from his website at www.johnwschlitt.com. No photos of the group Petra may be used. Poster and radio billing may read “John Schlitt, lead singer of Petra, in a special (seminar, workshop, appearance).” Stories and interviews referencing John’s work with Petra are encouraged. To arrange interviews with John, please contact Sue Dempster of Nova Productions.

II. VENUE ARRANGEMENTS

The following is a checklist of items that will help the time at the concert hall to run smoothly and efficiently.

A.  Sound Check.  Sound check is usually 2-3 hours ahead of concert time. Please have the sound system and lights set up for sound check no less than 4 hours prior to concert time.

B.  Meals.  Because of the limited amount of time to prepare for the concert, please have arrangements made for John to charge his meals at the hotel. Diet caffeine-free Coke, tomato juice, dry roasted salted peanuts and Symphony chocolate bars, along with cups and ice in the dressing room are appreciated. Fruit and vegetables are not necessary.

C.  Dressing Rooms.  One dressing room will be needed. It doesn’t have to be fancy, but should be clean and lockable with a separate washroom facility. We ask that the room have private access to the stage area.

D.  Counselors.  If requested and when possible, John will offer a challenge to respond to the call of Christ. Please provide trained counselors to meet with those that come forward, along with follow-up materials.

E.  Security/Transportation.  Someone with a clean vehicle with room for luggage should be available to transport John during the time he is with you. It is a good idea to provide the driver with some cash in case John needs to stop to eat before arriving at the hotel.

F.  Recording/Videotaping.  The concert cannot be recorded or taped in any form without written permission.

G.  Merchandising.  John usually sells CDs and t-shirts. Tables with 2-4 people to sell are needed. Any concession fees must be approved and will be paid to hall/venue personnel only. Please have sellers on hand 1 hour prior to opening the merchandise area to the public. An autograph table will be needed after the show.

H.  Financial.  The balance of payment (the honorarium less the deposit) should be made payable in the form of cash or check to John Schlitt, and given to him at the time of the performance. If the concert honorarium also includes a percentage split of ticket sales and/or love offering, all monies will be counted, settled and paid immediately following the concert.

I.  Miscellaneous.  In addition to the above-mentioned items, please be sure to include stagehands, loaders, house personnel, ticket sellers and takers, as needed.

J.  Lodging.  Hotel should be as close to the venue as possible and be of Holiday Inn quality or better. Early check-in is a must. It would be helpful to have room keys available when John is picked up. A credit card or direct bill should be set up so that meals can be charged.

K.  Airfares.
Airfare will be booked after the deposit and signed contracts are received. Airfare will be booked no less than 30 days prior to the concert date. Flight arrangements will be handled by Sue Dempster of Nova Productions, who will contact the Sponsor with flight details and the amount owed for the ticket(s). At that point, the Sponsor is required to send payment overnight to Sue Dempster before the ticket can be issued. If the sponsor desires to purchase airfare directly, all travel details and flight times must be approved in writing before any airline tickets are purchased.
